Two excellent examples of close-reading

In response to student interest, I have posted two examples of thoughtful close-reading from the first set of papers. The papers can be a good model for you to think about when structuring your next exposition paper; or alternately, you might look at how they read a particular moment for a sense of how the skill of close reading is practiced. In either case, I hope it is helpful to have access to students’ work. I expect to do the same with two other essays after the next assignment.
